It’s been a few years since Neil and I have lived in St Petersburg, FL but we are in town temporarily to fix up our house. While we are here, we’ve been trying to figure out a good place to buy wine besides the grocery store. An ABC Fine Wines and Spirits, http://www.abcfws.com, was built down the road after we left and last week we just happened to find out that they were holding their semi-annual wine tasting. When we called the store about making a reservation, we found out there would be over 50 samples of wine and spirits. Obviously we planned to check it out!

It was scheduled to take us 6 hours to reach our place near Yosemite National Park from Truckee, CA, so we figured there must be a place to go wine tasting around the half way point. Then we found Madroña Vineyard in Camino, CA. (http://madronavineyards.com) We were with some friends who share our love of wine, so I wanted to find a vineyard where we could all have the entire wine experience. It was a little confusing when we saw the apple orchards and christmas trees on the way there, but then we found signs pointing us to Madroña Vineyards.

Neil and I are currently visiting New England for some fall foliage traditions and family time. Over the weekend, we hit the country road that lead to Kosinski Farm in Westfield, MA. (www.kosinskifarms.com) Not only did they have a farm stand, pumpkins, pastries and lunch, but there was also a winery on the property. We had learned about Raven Hollow Winery (www.ravenhollowwinery.com) in the “Autumn Drives” article in the local Pennysaver newspaper.

We took a trip up to Washington last week to visit our friends, Jordan and Kyle in Bothell, WA. Haven’t heard of that town, well it’s right next to Woodinville, WA. (http://woodinvillewinecountry.com) Since we were in the Washington Wine Region, we felt it was necessary to do some wine tasting. Our friends said they had never gone wine tasting, just “wine drinking.” We found a wine bar near their house (http://www.thepurplecafe.com/locations.html) that carried a bunch of local wines.

This weeks WineAndCheeseFriday is about the Mt. Etna wine tasting that I attended at William Cross Wine Merchants (http://wmcross.com). As the regular readers of this website know, this is a cute wine shop,  pretty close to my home in San Francisco, where I have attended a few wine tastings. ( http://mferraro73.tumblr.com/post/90139827273/the-strange-this-week-i-attended-a-wine-tasting) ( http://mferraro73.tumblr.com/post/105670703153/holiday-wines-at-william-cross-wine-merchant) It has been a while since my last visit there  so I wanted to catch another one of their Wednesday night tastings.
