When I was at work last night, I decided to try out a new way of wine and cheese pairing. We had some Petite Blue Triple Cream cheese leftover from our Wine and Cheese Friday, http://mferraro73.tumblr.com/post/68106150195/pinot-vember-11-22-pinot-noir-and-petite-blue . Instead of just choosing one wine to pair with the cheese I thought it would be fun to guess which wine would pair best with the cheese, already knowing the cheese flavor. This cheese was pretty soft when we had it so I brought some pita from my greek lunch to spread the cheese on. I used my newly honed wine and cheese skills and set out…
We found our final Pinot Noir for Pinot-Vember during our recent trip to Sonoma, https://wineandcheesefriday.com/sonoma-trip-with-geoff-and-sabrina/ at Alexander Valley Vineyards. (http://www.avvwine.com/) Although we did research the cheeses that would pair well with this type of wine, we still couldn’t find them at the grocery store. We decided to try out a Mozzerella cheese since we haven’t used this cheese during Wine And Cheese Friday.
Pinot-Vember continues this week with a Pinot Noir and Petite Blue Triple Cream cheese both purchased at BevMo. (http://www.bevmo.com) Since there was a “5 cent sale” going on, I cheated a little by reading the descriptions of some of the wines. During the “5 cent sale” you get 2 bottles of the same wine, so I wanted to be sure it was one we would be interested in.
Pinot-Vember continues this week with a wine we purchased on our trip to Kenwood, CA. (https://wineandcheesefriday.com/trip-to-kenwood/)
Neil was doing his programming thing this weekend so we decided to do wine and cheese a little different. Usually we taste the wine and cheese side by side and compare notes. This time we tasted separately, lets see if it changes anything…
Join us in celebrating Pinot-Vember this month! We’ve decided to feature all Pinot Noir wine pairings as a fun theme for the blog.
