Wine Tastings While in and around Yosemite National Park
While we were in Yosemite, we were able to have a few WineAndCheese experiences, one on the way to Yosemite and another at the hotel’s restaurant, The Cellar Door.

Over the weekend we made a trip out to Yosemite. On our way we stopped in Jamestown, a cute Gold Rush town, around the halfway point. The wine tasting pass to Gianelli Vineyards was included as part of our Living Social deal for the weekend. (https://www.livingsocial.com/cities/15-san-francisco)
Since we’ve been in CA, we haven’t found many Pinot Grigio’s, so we decided to have one this week during Wine And Cheese Friday. This Pinot Grigio is from Italy, maybe there aren’t many produced here and that’s why we haven’t seen them? Most of our wine pairings involve red wines so this will be a nice change of pace.
As a special treat for Valentine’s Day, we not only paired wine and cheese but added some chocolate. Not a bad deal if you ask me! We wanted to step it up a bit so the wine today will be a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Since there is more than one pairing happening the entry will be wine, cheese, wine and cheese, chocolate, wine and chocolate. Enjoy!
These places are wine bars, wineries, and tasting rooms, but they all offer wine tastings. I found quite a few of them while riding the bus in my neighborhood.
We spent a relaxing Sunday with Jess and Corey at Frog’s Leap Vineyard, http://www.frogsleap.com/html/intro.html. This winery takes a more calm and casual approach to wine tasting. Instead of having a tasting room with a bar, they have a back porch overlooking the vineyard. It was so peaceful sitting at the table and just hanging out! Jess and Corey are Frog Fellows ( wine club members) there so they brought us to check it out. Thanks guys!
