This week we had a friend in town so we wanted to try something a little different. Steve, a fellow wine lover, is also a cheese lover and couldn’t wait to be a part of WineAndCheeseFriday. Because we all love cheese, just about as much as wine, I figured we could each have our own cheese to rate with the wine.
During the week, we joined some friends for dinner and wine pairing. Our task was for each person to choose a bottle of wine that would pair with their food. Since all of us are in the wine business we knew there would be some nice wines at the table, as well as some good pairings!
Over the weekend we made a trip out to Yosemite. On our way we stopped in Jamestown, a cute Gold Rush town, around the halfway point. The wine tasting pass to Gianelli Vineyards was included as part of our Living Social deal for the weekend. (https://www.livingsocial.com/cities/15-san-francisco)
As a special treat for Valentine’s Day, we not only paired wine and cheese but added some chocolate. Not a bad deal if you ask me! We wanted to step it up a bit so the wine today will be a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Since there is more than one pairing happening the entry will be wine, cheese, wine and cheese, chocolate, wine and chocolate. Enjoy!
These places are wine bars, wineries, and tasting rooms, but they all offer wine tastings. I found quite a few of them while riding the bus in my neighborhood.
This week we hit the road to taste some Italian wines. We had been to the Wine Club back in July so we figured we’d head over there again.
