It’s North Carolina Wine Month so let’s celebrate with Cabernet Franc from South Creek Winery in Nebo, NC and Carolina Bleu Marble cheese from Ashe County Cheese, also made in North Carolina. We purchased both this wine and cheese when we made our way out towards Asheville, NC in the summer, https://wineandcheesefriday.com/south-creek-winery-visit-nebo-nc/. This would be our first winery visit in North Carolina so we were anxious to sip the wines.
We spent a few days in Cape Cod visiting my mom’s cousin, Karen, and her daughter, Lyndsay. It’s fair to assume that we brought along some wine to enjoy with them. We picked out this bottle of Steele Chardonnay when we were at Wine 101 Hamden a couple weeks back.
We took a break from the work in the winery and vineyard, to attend the Art and Wine Reception at Lake County Wine Studio, http://www.lakecountywinestudio.com/index.html. What a cool idea: wine and food pairings, artists and their art; great for a Friday night!
We arrived to the Sol Rouge Vineyard last night. We are excited about all the wine opportunities that this experience will provide! We are already scheduled to help bottle the wine on Monday morning so stay tuned for an entry regarding that. There will also be tasks to be done in the vineyard which Maria is super excited about.
Neil and I not only like to drink wine, but also we love to be around the grapes before they turn into wine. Whenever we get the chance, we visit vineyards. Since harvest happens late summer to early fall, we called our friend who owns a vineyard to see when harvest might begin. Well we were in luck, because it was about to start in a few days.
Maria and Neil started wineandcheesefriday.com to learn more about wine in 2014. We’ve visited wineries, and creameries across the world to learn as much as we can about these two wonderful delacacies. We❤️🍷&🧀
