It’s North Carolina Wine Month so let’s celebrate with Cabernet Franc from South Creek Winery in Nebo, NC and Carolina Bleu Marble cheese from Ashe County Cheese, also made in North Carolina. We purchased both this wine and cheese when we made our way out towards Asheville, NC in the summer, https://wineandcheesefriday.com/south-creek-winery-visit-nebo-nc/. This would be our first winery visit in North Carolina so we were anxious to sip the wines.
Recently during a layover at Newark Airport, we took a little time to enjoy some wine. The restaurant, Proof, was located in the center aisle between the gates. Although it was essentially in the middle of the walkway, it was surprisingly relaxed and chill. This part of the airport must have been recently remodeled because you placed your order on iPads, at your table, and could even pay with your frequent flyer miles!
We spent a relaxing Sunday with Jess and Corey at Frog’s Leap Vineyard, http://www.frogsleap.com/html/intro.html. This winery takes a more calm and casual approach to wine tasting. Instead of having a tasting room with a bar, they have a back porch overlooking the vineyard. It was so peaceful sitting at the table and just hanging out! Jess and Corey are Frog Fellows ( wine club members) there so they brought us to check it out. Thanks guys!
We’ve only done one other sparkling wine during Wine And Cheese Friday so we figured we’d try another this week. This sparkling wine was prepared by the Methode Traditionnelle, in Napa Valley. Lets see how we like it.
Neil and I took our first trip to Napa Valley on Tuesday, 8/27. We went with my brother and his girlfriend who were in town visiting. We decided to go to 2 wineries that would be pretty different but close to each other.
Maria and Neil started wineandcheesefriday.com to learn more about wine in 2014. We’ve visited wineries, and creameries across the world to learn as much as we can about these two wonderful delacacies. We❤️🍷&🧀
