Di Bruno Bros Wine and Cheese

Di Bruno Bros Cheese Mural in Italian Market, Philadelphia

Di Bruno Brothers is a long time cheese shop in Philadelphia, but honestly we just stumbled on it last year during our first visit out. Since we liked it so much, it was our first stop upon arrival this year! We knew we’d be able to find all kinds of wines and cheeses to stock our fridge.

Argentinian Rosé and Nutty cheese

Argentina Rosé and Nutty cheese

Would you imagine that people are drinking Rosé during this time of the year? Well Neil and I are still in Costa Rica and if we can find rosé in the store, we’re happy to drink it! We’ve never tried this one and it was a Syrah, which we enjoy. We also don’t drink Argentinian wine all that often so we were curious to find out it’s flavor profile. Those of you that are regular readers know the Costa Rican cheese brand, Le Chaudron, as it was just used in last week’s entry too! We actually picked it up during the same trip to L'Épicerie. Now onto the pairing of Argentinian Rosé and Nutty cheese.

Emiliana Adobe Rosé and Goat’s Milk Brie

Emiliana Adobe Rosé Reserva and Goat’s Milk Brie

Neil and I were really craving some rosé so we headed to the grocery store to see what we could find. There were a few different rosés in the wine aisle but we spotted this Chilean rosé by Emiliana Winery, something new for us, and picked up a bottle. We’ve been enjoying the local cheese brand Quesos QM lately so we figured we could find something by them to pair with our rosé. It feels like it’s been forever since we just sat down and paired wine and cheese. Join us today as we taste Emiliana Adobe Rosé (Reserva) and Goat’s Milk Brie!

Wine In A Can

Throughout 2019, we set out to find some canned wines. Yes it’s trendy but also convenient when you’re not  looking for a full bottle. Did you know that one can holds the same as half a bottle?

There’s also many times when it’s much more convenient to have aluminum instead of glass, like at summer concerts or while you’re camping. Join us as we explore this “much easier to carry” version of wine.

Milbrandt Rosé, Wasabi Crusted Scallops & First Snow Cheese

Do you have a twitter account? Do you like wine? Have you ever done a twitter chat? Twitter chats take place for around an hour and a bunch of people get together to discuss a monthly topic. It’s all text, well, except for the #pinksociety chat. They have videos, crazy memes and usually a dance party portion. A very fun way to get together and drink pink wine! I’ve been part of the #pinksociety since it’s inception and another cool part of it, is that you can win prizes, which brings me to today’s #WineAndCheeseFriday entry.

Celebrating Rosé Day with a Provence Rosé and a Lavender Cheese

Celebrating Rose Day with a Provence Rosé and a Lavendar Cheese

This wine and cheese pairing began with a cheese. We first tasted the lavender goats’ milk gouda cheese in the Amsterdam Cheese and Liquor Store in Sint Maarten. They surprised us by mentioning that Gouda cheese can be stored for up to 6 weeks unrefrigerated since it is a hard cheese. That was all we needed to hear; we purchased multiple wedges of Gouda cheese to bring back to the US with us. The lavender cheese would be used in a future pairing and the rest would be souvenirs for family. Yeah, we consider cheese a souvenir ?
